Scoring at the Make-a-thon will be largely based on a design or concept presentation, and a second, shorter proof-of-concept presentation.
Q: Does the device have to work by the end of the competition?
A: Nope. As described in the scoring above, team designs will be evaluated on their feasibility, but this is not senior design, so you only need to utilize your resources to convince the judges that your design is feasible. The closer you can get to a complete proof of concept during the competition, the better.
Q: Who judges the designs?
A: Representatives from the Biomedical Industry. From R&D engineers at small companies around San Antonio and Denton, to the Director of the largest innovation competition in the city, diverse backgrounds and interests will be represented on our panel.
